K3 students are having a lot of Winter Fun in the classroom this month! They even tried out a recipe for “Snowman Soup.” Students took turns adding ingredients and stirring. After the soup warmed up they enjoyed tasting it during morning snack time.
Here are some other play-to-learn activities K3 students experienced:
- observing a melting snowman in the science center
- serving hot cocoa in our dramatic play “Hot Cocoa Stand”
- painting a snowman and adding textured accessories
- singing “I’m a little snowman” and “There’s a snowflake on my nose”
- building snow forts with marshmallows and toothpicks
- creating a “melted snowman” picture
- reading Sneezy the Snowman by Maureen Wright and Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner
- exploring snow with a variety of tools and painting it with water colors
- making snowmen with play dough
