The Sacraments: The Heart of Catholic Education

The Sacraments are at the heart of Catholic education—visible signs of God’s grace that help our students grow in faith and understanding of His presence in their lives. At St. Mary Parish School, sacramental preparation is a shared journey of faith, guided by our parish, school, families, and the students themselves.

Our programs for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are parish-based and coordinated by the Director of Religious Education. Students in second grade prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the fall and for their First Eucharist during the spring semester. Instruction takes place during the school day and is enriched through special parish gatherings, family activities, and parental guidance at home.

Through this multi-dimensional approach, our children not only learn about the Sacraments—they experience them as moments of grace that connect them more deeply to God, their parish community, and the life of the Church.
