School Closing Procedures
CANCELLATION OF SCHOOL POLICY Emergency school closings may be necessary due to severe weather condition during a school day. The decision to close is made by the public school districts and the bus companies serving the district. St. Mary Parish School will automatically close when either Menomonee Falls OR Germantown Public Schools announce that they are closing due to inclement weather. Please instruct your child as to where they need to go if you are not home in the event of early dismissal. The television or radio stations may not mention St. Mary Parish School by name. Both school staff and families are to listen to the official television or radio stations for announcements on school closing: Channels 4, 6, or 12, WTMJ 620 AM, WKTI 94.5 FM. Emergency announcements will be made on these stations concerning hazardous road conditions, school closings, delays, or bus cancellations due to adverse weather conditions. When the start of school is delayed for a period of time, the same procedure used to close school, as listed above, shall be followed. For example: IF: Germantown School ONLY is delayed, school will begin at 8:05 a.m. Germantown bus riders will not be counted as tardy. IF: Menomonee Falls School ONLY is delayed, school will begin at 8:05a.m. Menomonee Falls bus riders will not be counted as tardy. IF: BOTH Germantown and Menomonee Falls are delayed, St. Mary will not open until 9:50 a.m. and there will be no morning K3 or K4 classes. In this case, school will begin at 10:05 a.m.

Safeguarding All God's Family
Any adults planning on volunteering in the parish or school must attend a Safe Environment Education Session. Registration must be completed online at www.cmgconnect.org.
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has implemented Safeguarding All of God’s Family, previously referred to as the VIRTUS Program, to teach parents, employees, educators and adult volunteers working with children about the injustices of sexual abuse in society. By creating awareness and understanding, volunteers learn to become more attuned to the warning signs of abuse and identify ways to respond. Awareness is the first step in understanding our responsibilities as members of God’s family to our children and young people. Feel free to contact our St. Mary Parish Safe Environment Coordinator, Steve Cosentino for more information, scosentino@stam.church.

iReady Testing
iReady testing offers several benefits that will greatly benefit our students and the broader school community. The assessments are designed to be more adaptive and provide a deeper insight into each student’s strengths and areas for growth. This means we can tailor instruction more effectively to meet individual student needs. Students in K5-8th grade will take the iReady Diagnostic Assessment three times a year: September, January, and May. After each testing period, we will share the results with you. The iReady results are more intuitive and easier to understand for all stakeholders, including parents. This will help you stay informed about your child’s progress and work more collaboratively with teachers to support their learning. Bridges in Mathematics
Bridges in Mathematics is a comprehensive program that blends direct instruction, structured investigation, and open exploration to develop students’ deep understanding of mathematical concepts. We believe this program will significantly enhance our students’ math skills and foster a love for learning. Our decision to adopt Bridges in Mathematics was based on extensive research, including pilot programs in our K5, 1st, and 5th grades, and multiple visits to both public and private schools that are currently using Bridges. The feedback from these pilots and visits was overwhelmingly positive, with noticeable improvements in student engagement and understanding of math concepts. You can learn more about what Bridges in Mathematics has to offer by visiting their family support website: Bridges Second Edition Family Support | The Math Learning Center
