This week, fourth graders started book clubs, with the class split up, reading three different books.  With discussion being one of the most fun and important components of a book club, we were able to make this possible by using the new video conference feature on Schoology.  The kids were able to be split up into their respective book clubs, and Ms. Hecht was able to bounce between each group virtually, listening to their conversations.  Kids used a thumbs up or hand raise to signal when they wanted to add to the conversation.  Everybody was able to talk and take turns, just as if we were in person, and get in everything they wanted to say! In the end, the whole class agreed that they loved being able to discuss their books in this new and creative way while remaining socially distanced!
